ESSEX FOOTBALL FINALS- 3RD IN ESSEX!

After placing second in the local football competition (out of 31 schools), our boys went to the Essex Finals.

After a long drive to Chelmsford, on a very cold day, the boys started the day storming through the morning matches.

The matches were very short, 7 mins each way. This resulted in a lot of matches being 0 - 0 draws and a lot of teams finishing on the same points. However thanks to a great start from our boys, we qualified for the semi-finals by scoring 1 more goal than our closest oposition.

The semi final was a very physical game, but our lads fought hard and dominated most of the match. We hit the bar, the post and forced some amazing saves from their goalie. Sadly a break by the other team, followed by a rather fortunate shot meant we lost 1 - 0.

We held our heads high and went into the third/forth playoff still wanting to win... and they sure did! Having struggled against the other team earlier that day, we made no mistake this time and confidently won.

Another proud day to be part of the Bournes Green Team! Well done all involved!
