Happy New Year and welcome back!

Due to there not being a blog written before we finished for our winter break, Hazel Class  participated and enjoyed many festive activities (as children continued to work diligently in between these events).

The first of these events was the Christmas Fayre, which seemed well attended by many of the class. The following week, Year 5 enjoyed their own Christmas party, with all the fun of party games, such as pass-the-parcel being played (a big thank you to everyone who sent in food).

Several of the class participated in the evening nativity and singalong, which although very cold, was well attended and the children performed admirably in such conditions.

The next wonderful event was Christmas jumper day, which was also the same day as the special Christmas lunch day. The children certainly dressed for the occasion, and with Mr Hinds also dressed in a Christmas costume, the children did very well concentrating during their usual lessons that day!

Earlier in the last week, the class took part in their own Christmas bazaar - again, many thanks for all the contributions. Children certainly seemed to enjoy organising, shopping for bargains and manning the stalls!

On Tuesday, the whole school joined in an amazing rendition of The Twelve Days of Christmas: each class supplying children to participate with their own creative actions! The whole performance was a spectacular spectacle that the children very much enjoyed.

I'd like to take this opportunity, along with Mrs Garner, to thank all the children, parents and carers for the Christmas cards and presents we received; they were overwhelming, but very much appreciated!
