The final weeks of term are flying by...

The final weeks of term are flying by and every day in Year 6 has been action-packed since the Isle of Wight! We have been busy representing the school in various sports competitions; performing in the Talent Show; rehearsing for our production and synchronised swimming routine; visiting our secondary schools and much much more. Whilst Year 6 pupils are excited for the next chapter, we all really can't believe we are down to our final weeks at Bournes Green! The last day, when we perform our Leavers Assembly, is set to be an emotional one!

Last week, Year 6 performed their production, 'Darwin Rocks!' to the rest of the school and to our parents. They wowed the crowds with superb singing, groovy dance routines and fantastic acting skills. Each time they performed, they got better and better, demonstrating confidence and flair throughout. A huge well done to every single one of our talented cast- we are incredibly proud of you all!

This week, many of our Year 6s have been getting a taste of day-to-day life in secondary school at Shoebury High. As part of their 'Secondary Experience Week', they are following an exciting full timetable of lessons and adjusting to different start and finish times. We look forward to their return next week, when we will hear more of what they have been up to! Meanwhile, the rest of our Year 6s have been in school at Bournes Green, working on transition projects for the Year 5s coming up to Year 6. They have also been researching their new schools and producing projects as an end result. Their help has also been well-received around the school by other adults and children too!

Year 6 are eager to make the most of their remaining time at Bournes Green... get the tissues at the ready everyone!
