Pupil Premium Funding
Pupil Premium is funding provided by the Government to support the needs of disadvantaged children (specifically those eligable to recieve Free School Meals (FSM) and those children Looked after and in Care (LAC). The aim is to provide opportunities for these children to be able to access the curriculum on an equal footing to the more advantaged peers. The money is important in enabling the school to 'close the gap' and ensure that children are offered every opportunity to succeed.
The Government expects schools to account for the ways in which these monies are spent and this is outlined in our Schools Pupil Premium Action Plan. Please select link below to view.
It is very important that any parent who feels they might be eligible to access Free school meals, comes forward as these funds can only be awarded to schools based on appropriate pupil numbers. If you think you might be eligible, please contact the school office, or get a form via the Southend Borough website.
Our Governing body have allowed the school to give Free School Meals monies directly to parents so they may provide children with a packed lunch. This is because the school does not have a hot meals service.
