Bournes Green Junior Parents Association
Who we are
The Parents Association or PA for short, has always been there as one of your first steps into the Bournes Green community. The great news is that every person who has a child at the school automatically becomes a member of the PA! The PA is a group of committed parents who provide valuable support by organising a varied calendar of fundraising and social events that are an important part of school life.
In 2008, the PA became a Registered Charity (Charity Commission Number: 1123640), with the promise that all funds raised are spent 100% in accordance with the Charity mission statement which is “to raise additional funds that directly benefit all the children, support the school and develop relationships between staff, parents and the wider community”.
What we do
We raise money by hosting a wide range of events and activities throughout the year including:
- Mother’s and Father’s Day Sales
- Non Uniform Sales
- School Discos
- The Parents’ Ball
- Summer Fete
- Christmas Fayre
- Non Uniform Days
- Quiz Nights
Why join the PA and what is involved?
Every year, money raised by the PA is used to maintain the school minibuses, which are vital to the school; they are used on a regular basis to transport the children to sporting events and school trips. Additionally, the PA has funded the purchase of new library books, playground equipment, iPads and the refurbishment of the school swimming pool.
Your support means that you are able to provide funds to enhance your child’s education and support the school community.
We hold monthly meetings; dates for the meetings can be found on the Weekly Update, where you can also find the PA news, which gives details of the upcoming PA events.
Come and join us
We are always looking for new ideas and warmly welcome new members to lend a helping hand. We are a friendly bunch and enjoy our involvement in the PA, it is an important role and it makes us proud to be supporting the school and our children.
