TAG RUGBY TEAM QUALIFY FOR ESSEX FINALS

It's that time of year for the Upper School Tag Rugby Tournament at Southend Rugby Club.

We made a fantastic start, not losing any of our games during the morning league session, easily progressing into the Super 8 competition in the afternoon.

The afternoon was more of a challenge but our team showed great perseverance and determination. Even when faced with a slightly more physical version of tag rugby, our children showed superb self control and made it through to the semi-finals.

Our semi final was a nail biter as we were drawing the match 3 - 3 at the end of normal time.  But finished with a confident win of 6 - 4 after extra time.

Through to the final, against the only team to have beaten us all day! The first half was extremely close end to end, try for try. Unfortunately the second half tipped in the other teams favour and we never made it back.

An outstanding performance from everyone in the team, the standard of tag rugby gets better each year and we are still finishing on the podium and making it through to represent Southend Schools in the Essex finals; scheduled for March! Watch this space.
