WILLOW'S WINTER ADVENTURES
Our project of Frozen Kingdoms has taken us back to the start of the 1900s this week and we have been learning all about the disastrous event - the sinking of the Titanic.
Our project of Frozen Kingdoms has taken us back to the start of the 1900s this week and we have been learning all about the disastrous event - the sinking of the Titanic. We have read, watched, discussed and presented our findings ready to write a newspaper report next week to report on a key event of the time.
Also, we have started to look at Antarctic explorers this week and learn about a significant event from history. Some of us learnt and presented information about one of the first explorers - Captain James Cook and we learnt all about his travels and how much of an impact that he had on today's history. Without him, would exploration even have continued? Would we have ever found New Zealand? We also learnt about the achievements and failures of Robert Falcon Scott and Ernest Shackleton. The bravery and determination that those explorers showed, really are to be admired.
We are almost at the end of our project now and we are excited about the challenge that Miss Crumbie will set us so we can show how much we have learnt!
Have a great weekend!
