BARMY BRITS AND BAYEUX TAPESTRY!
Hello and welcome to the first Birch Class of 2018-19 blog!
It’s fair to say we have been working hard throughout the first two weeks and we are certainly stepping up and showing that we are ready for the year ahead!
We are loving getting stuck into our English text ‘Outlaw’ by Michael Morpurgo, which links to our first topic, ‘Barmy Brits Since 1066.’ We’ve kicked things off by learning about with the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066. Alongside this, we have been looking at the incredible Bayeux Tapestry, which depicts the scenes of the two armies at war. Did you know the real tapestry was 70 metres long?
Check out the photos of us drawing our own versions of a scene from the tapestry. Everyone has paid great attention detail and so far, they are looking fantastic! We look forward to showing you the finished result!
Until next time!
