Prior to Beech class’ visit to the Southend Planetarium, we have been exploring exciting space art. It has been a really creative process. The children have tried new skills and experimented in different ways with mark making on paper. We have 'marbelled' paper, which involves experimenting with mess, colour and pattern. We have created patterns by printing, using inks and rollers and etching into polystyrene. There have been many 'oohs' and 'aahs' at the variety and the spectacular results produced by the children. We cannot wait to see the finished results as we use these beautiful images to create planets and place them upon a galaxy background. Here are a few photos of our marbelling and printing. We can't wait to show you the end product!
