ANCIENT EGYPTIAN WORKSHOP!

On Tuesday 6th November, Elm class came to school dressed in fantastic Ancient Egyptian costumes ready for our themed day.

 

On Tuesday 6th November, Elm class came to school dressed in fantastic Ancient Egyptian costumes ready for our themed day. The day started off with the children learning facts about Ancient Egypt and what their life used to be like and completing a quiz to show what they had learnt.

The children then learnt all about the gruesome mummification process, even watching how the brain is ‘jiggled’ out of the nose! Social hierarchy was an important aspect of Ancient Egyptian life. Some children were lucky to be able to act out the role of a Pharaoh, or they may have been acting out someone lower in the hierarchy.

The day ended with the whole year group splitting into 2 teams and trying to score points by hunting different animals. Remember Elm class, don’t hit the……………..!!!!
